Lime (Linden) is considered a sacred tree in many cultures, symbolising unconditional love, luck and fertility.
I grew up on a farm in the North of France where many Linden grow. Every single June of my childhood, my mum would take me with her to gather the flowers as soon as they blossomed. My job was to lay them flat on large mesh trays to dry them in the barn. Drinking an infusion of "tilleuil" was my evening treat after dinner, long before I discovered its healing powers.
Mostly known as a relaxing remedy to ease nervous tension, it's a potent plant medicine, with nervine, anti-spasmodic, diaphoretic, diuretic, mild-astringent and tonic actions. The diaphoresis (action on fever) combined with relaxation explains its value in the treatment of feverish flus and colds. As a circulatory tonic, it has a role in the treatment of migraines and high blood pressure of nervous origin.
I consider Lime Flower to be a medicine of choice in postpartum as an all-round protector, able to soothe our nervous system as we bond and settle in our new mothering role whilst healing from the birth.
I recommend practicing a sovereign herbal dosage approach. Scan QR code on side of bottle to learn how to « meet the medicine » aka getting the right dosage for YOU.
