This is a medicinal product to use alongside the Fertility Awareness Method. It should NOT be used with hormonal birth control.
Herbal contraception has been around since the beginning of times and has been passed down in oral tradition through wise women, midwives and healers. I’m proud to be a custodian of this precious wisdom.
Women are only fertile and able to get pregnant 4-8 days out of each month. We can choose to avoid or welcome implantation on these specific days.
Working with herbs and tracking your fertility put your reproductive power and long-term health back into your hands.
Dosage: I strongly recommend you do your own research to decide what is right for you.
Folk Herbalist Arielle de Martinez speak about dosage here:
“While the dosing of plants is very intuitive and is different for every body, the following recommendations can be made:
-Take 1/2-2mL before ovulation to enhance fertility. Stop taking before ovulation.
-Take every day for 1-3 months to enhance fertility BEFORE trying to conceive.
-QAL is not to be taken everyday for contraception. Part of her magic is using her cyclically in conjunction with your cycles.
-Herbalist Lisa Wolf recommends 7 drops of tincture, 3 times a day, for 3 days after intercourse when pregnancy is a risk.
-A recent 2011 study on QAL for contraception administered 15-30 drops 8 hours after intercourse, every 8 hours, for 24 hours. The study had a 95% contraceptive success rate, and the 5% of women who became pregnant all did not follow this protocol appropriately.
-in her article “Wild Carrot (Daucus Carota): A Plant for Conscious, Natural Contraception,” Robin Rose Bennett recommends taking 1/2-2 mL of tincture, 1-3 times after unprotected sexual intercourse, taking the first dose within 8-12 hours and then repeating that dosage twice more every 8 to 12 hours, within a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of 72 hours.
-To harness her spiritual and energetic properties, take 1-3 drops 1-3 times a day consistently until your body tells you that you don’t need to use her anymore.
-It has been recommended to not use QAL as a sole form of contraception. This can be as simple as using her alongside a fertility awareness method and tracking your ovulation and cycles.
