Constipated from iron tablets? 🤢💩Try this instead! This iron tonic is a traditional trusted remedy for diagnosed iron-deficiency both in pregnancy and postpartum. I learnt this recipe from Carole Guyett, who herself learnt it from herbalists Janet Hicks and Brian V. Lamb. I adapted it to include fresh nettles.
It provides a good source of iron with apricots and nettles slowly cooked in molasses, as well as optimising the body’s natural ability to absorb iron from other foods thanks to a blend of tinctures to facilitate absorption.
Ingredients: apricots, molasses, red wine, Zingiber officinalis, Gentiana lutea, Serenoa serulata, Rumex crispus, Turnera diffusa, Urtica dioica, Capscicum minimum.
I recommend practicing a sovereign herbal dosage approach. Scan QR code on side of bottle to learn how to « meet the medicine » aka getting the right dosage for YOU.
